JOB TITLE: Account Director
REPORTING TO: Head of Activation
LOCATION: Hybrid-working; Tuesdays & Thursdays in our London office
What does the role involve?
We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic Account Director with deep expertise in both Paid Search (PPC) and Paid Social, to lead integrated media strategies for SYZYGY clients. You’ll be responsible for driving media performance, client satisfaction, and team development, while identifying opportunities for innovation and growth across channels.
This is a hands-on role that will involve both strategic leadership and executional oversight. You will own client relationships, guide cross-channel media planning, and inspire your team to deliver best-in-class performance.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Strategy
- Act in a leading role across both PPC and Paid Social accounts, driving strategy, communication, and campaign performance.
- Translate business and marketing objectives into actionable cross-channel media strategies.
- Lead integrated performance planning across Paid Search and Paid Social to ensure cohesive campaign execution.
- Collaborate with other channel leads (SEO, Display, Analytics, etc.) to deliver full-funnel marketing solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships with regular communication, reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
Campaign Management & Performance
- Oversee the execution, optimisation, and performance analysis of Paid Search and Paid Social campaigns against KPIs.
- Lead account forecasting, budget planning, and revenue pipeline management.
- Maintain strong operational processes, templates, and backlogs to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Keep up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and algorithm updates across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other major platforms.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of (currently) three people.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Support resourcing and ensure the team is appropriately staffed across projects.
- Champion continuous learning and development within the team.
Innovation & Growth
- Identify new media opportunities and propose testing strategies to drive incremental performance.
- Contribute to new business pitches and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Attend industry events, contribute to award submissions, and represent the agency externally.
What are we looking for?
- University Degree (or international equivalent).
- A minimum of 4 years working across the two core channels.
- Proven success managing large, complex multi-channel accounts.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage profitability and income.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing, motivating, and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and client management skills – a confident and articulate presenter.
- Platform expertise: Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Ads, and 3rd-party tools like Marin, SA360, or similar.
- Strong data skills and proficiency in Google Analytics, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- A second language is a plus but not essential.
- A maths qualification (GCSE or A-Level) is desirable.
