Business Development & Marketing Manager

The Business Development & Marketing Manager will drive lead generation and conversion for the agency, growing our client base through a combination of networking and prospecting.

What does the role involve?

You will be responsible for generating leads and helping us turn those leads into clients. Your responsibilities will be to build your own pipeline of ongoing leads via prospecting and networking as well as helping to drive agency awareness through marketing.

Where we specifically need support:

  1. Developing pipeline & leads
    • Proactively developing own sales pipeline to promote the benefits of digital marketing and convert new business into the agency. Handling inbound enquiries.
    • Contacting new prospective clients to establish a positive rapport and convert into new opportunities.
    • Feed into creating proposals, presenting to clients, and closing deals.

 

  1. Driving lead conversion
    • Coordinating and writing pitch responses including proposals, RFI responses and pitch decks (in partnership with specialists/channel experts)
    • Managing our profiles on procurement portals; identifying opportunities in line with our experience
    • Liaising with intermediaries around new pitch opportunities
    • Supporting ad hoc events we participate in or speak at, with content provision

 

  1. Agency amplification
    • Developing a content strategy for the agency to use across our website, social and in line with PR agency plans
    • Oversight of content creation to support new business opportunities: research, thought leadership content, case studies that are relevant to the specific opportunity (in partnership with specialists/channel experts)
    • Developing our ‘master’ marketing content including creds decks, case studies and other boiler plate content. Ensure we have a central source/repository for this key marketing content that can be harnessed for different purposes
    • Coordinating and writing responses to award entries

What are we looking for?

You are entrepreneurial, ambitious and pro-active: this role will suit someone from a digital marketing sales background and has plenty of opportunity for you to make your mark. We are a lean, dynamic organisation so the role suits a self-starter, someone who likes working at pace.

You also have an intrinsic sense of what makes impactful, relevant content – as well as what doesn’t. You understand the agency pitch process and the important role content can have in influencing clients and communicating agency thinking.

  • Solid and proven sales results.
  • Experience of digital marketing sales
  • Interest and knowledge of digital marketing, the trends, methods and emerging technologies.
  • Have self-motivation and the desire to exceed set targets and objectives.
  • Superb communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Have a strong and well-established network to bring to the role.
  • A natural champion of content. You love content and its power to persuade and inspire
