Roller derby, for the uninitiated, is the ultimate punk sport. It involves roller-skates, jammers, blockers, pivots and a whole lot of tattoos.
Syzygy AM Linda is part of the London Rockin’ Rollers team that regularly plays against teams from the UK and Europe. (Linda has a much more hardcore name when she’s got her skates on – Kit Kat Power, No.664, next door to Satan).
You can see Linda and the other roller girls in action at York Hall in Bethnal Green on February 27. The NeanderDolls will be facing the Voodoo Skull Krushers, with guest skaters from Goldie Lookin’ ChainGang and Glasgow Roller Girls. And that probably tells you everything you need to know about the roller derby vibe.
