SYZYGY designer in MoMA exhibition, NY
A project by SYZYGY's Senior Designer, Dan Collier, is being displayed at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City as part of a new exhibition.
Created in 2007, 'Typographic Links' is a hand-sewn book which maps interesting links and connections between typographers, typefaces, and typographic terms and phrases. Red threads are used as three-dimensional 'hyperlinks' guiding the reader through the pages of the book.
There has been a great deal of hype around the project with it featuring on numerous design websites, in many books and magazines globally and most recently, in TED talks. It also attracted the attention of D&AD in 2007 when Dan was awarded 'D&AD Best New Blood'.
The 'Talk to Me' exhibition opened this week. It explores communication between people and objects and, as well as Typographic Links, it features a wide range of objects from all over the world, from interfaces and products, to diagrams, visualisations, vehicles and furniture, all by designers, students and scientists.
Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator of the Department of Architecture and Design at MoMA gave a background introduction to the exhibition.
More about the exhibition can be found here. If you can't see Dan's book in New York, don't worry as there are plans for it to be here at our London office later in the year.
We would love you to get involved
Dan is currently working on a second edition of the book and would love your help. If you have an interesting typographic fact or connection then please:
